The new Brother inks are from the Inobella™ ink series, so the black ink is pigment and CMY are dye based inks. The Brother LC223 (LC203), LC225 (LC205), LC227 (LC207) and LC229 (LC209) are single tank inkjet cartridges without an integrated print head. Each cartridge is equipped with a chip for ink level monitoring and identification of the cartridge towards the printer. Without this chip a cartridge would not be recognised by the printer. Means that to successfully remanufacture them you either need to replace or reset the chips.

The ink and air port are mounted to the inner tank which is protected by a plastic housing. So the ink port protrudes from the housing at the cartridge’s front side. At this point, the ink from the inner tank flows into the tubes inside the printer leading toward to the print head. In the front cap of the housing is a round opening; behind it is the air port. Between the air and ink port you can find an inspection glass. In combination with the chip on the upper side the inspection glass is responsible for the ink level detection. When the front part from the outer housing is removed, the inner tank is clearly visible.

The new Brother printers are said to be ideal for smaller workgroups, offering multiple connectivity to PCs, mobile devices and cloud connectivity. Printing directly from mobile devices is possible trough Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print or Brother’s iPrint & Scan app. The use of the touchscreen makes the connection to the popular cloud-based platforms such Facebook, Google Drive and Dropbox possible without the need for a PC.

Some of the properties of the corresponding printer models are:

·         Print up to A3, Copy, Scan & Fax up to A4

·         Colour touchscreen LCD

·         Automatic 2-sided printing

·         USB+Wireless+Wired connectivity

·         Automatic document feeder

OCP announces the release of inks for HP 62 cartridges

am .

Hewlett-Packard introduced four new colour inkjet All-in-Ones for home and home-office users, the Envy 7640, 5640, 5660 and Officejet 5740, all designed to make it easy for users to print from Smartphones and tablets, supporting iOS, Android, ChromeOS, Windows 8 and Kindle Fire HXD. All of the new models feature WiFi wireless connectivity, and remote printing.

The Envy 7640 is the biggest offering of the new printers, bringing speeds of 14 ppm for black and 9 ppm colour. It comes with a 125-page input tray, while the output tray has a capacity of 25 pages. Two smaller Envy units are being released as well with the 5640 and 5660. The Envy 5660 offers many of the same features, resolution and printing speed as the 7640, but it lacks the automatic document feeder on the top of the unit. The Envy 5640 prints a little slower than the 5660, hitting a max of 12 ppm.

The business machine, the Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One, can print 12 ppm in black or 8 ppm in colour. The Officejet has the 25-page automatic document feeder, but lacks the larger capacitive touchscreen the Envy 7640 has. The resolution is declared in up to 1200x1200 rendered dpi in black (when printing from computer) and up to 4800x1200 optimised dpi in colour (when printing from a computer on selected HP photo papers and Print in Max dpi).*

The new printers are equipped with two cartridges, pigment black and dye-based tri-colour cartridge with an integrated print head. The new HP 62 cartridges are also available in XL version.
